Habitat For Good is our new three-year initiative with the Chicago chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Habitat’s mission aligns with our vision of empowering homeownership and strengthening communities as a whole, and shines a light on our three areas of focus: fair housing, financial empowerment and racial equity.
With Habitat for Good, we’re committed to providing a total of $500,000 over the course of three years to support four main areas of programming that go beyond building homes — community engagement, affordable homeownership, education and neighborhood improvement.
With this new exciting partnership, we can directly impact neighborhoods and people throughout Chicagoland and amplify our vision of strengthening communities as a whole so the people there can thrive.
And we can use our everyday expertise in real estate to go beyond just financial support and create opportunities to volunteer together as a company and as individuals. Habitat for Good goes beyond just building homes.
Companywide volunteer days just ended - check back for 2025 dates!
This year we hosted multiple 'build days' with Habitat for Humanity and their partners throughout Chicagoland.

'Build days’ are possible through Habitat's Affordable Homeownership Program, where volunteers get together to build homes for families that don’t qualify for conventional loans.
Share your expertise to help people achieve their dream of homeownership.

Our donations help neighborhoods work together to thrive.
Just like us, Habitat believes that nobody knows what a community needs better than the people that live there. That’s why they created their Neighborhood Grants Initiative. This program provides direct microgrants to individual neighborhoods so they can identify, organize and execute rehab projects they think are important to their community.
Since launching in 2019, the Neighborhood Grants Initiative has distributed $70,000, completed 45 projects and engaged more than 4,400 residents. Our contribution of $120,000 over the next three years, will fund 70–100 projects engaging nearly 7,000–10,000 residents. Just think of that impact!
As an organization steeped in the Chicago communities we serve, we’ve always sought to be part of the solution and stand on the right side of history in fighting housing discrimination.
In the 1960’s, the late John Baird testified at the local and state level in favor of fair housing laws — he even resigned his position on the Chicago Real Estate Board, which his family had helped found, in protest when it decided against supporting fair housing rights. Today, we continue to honor this legacy and reaffirm our commitment to fair housing through education, training and community engagement.
Part of our Habitat for Good partnership is our contribution to this series exploring fair housing issues, specifically in Chicagoland.
